Delhi sees 9 degrees as minimum temperature, moderate AQI recorded

New Delhi, March 5 (IANS) – The national capital of India experienced a minimum temperature of nine degrees Celsius, four notches below the seasonal average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD also predicted that the maximum temperature would be around 25 degrees with a partly cloudy sky.

The weather department noted that the overall air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was under the ‘moderate’ category on Tuesday. In the Anand Vihar area, PM 2.5 levels were recorded at 165 and PM 10 at 155, falling under the ‘moderate’ category according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the AQI scale, an index between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, while 51 to 100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 is ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 is ‘poor’, 301 to 400 is ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 is ‘severe’. The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport (T3) recorded PM 2.5 levels at 131 and PM 10 at 119, while Dwarka Sector 8 saw PM 2.5 levels at 235 and PM 10 at 205, both considered ‘poor’.

Overall, the city of Delhi experienced moderate air quality levels on Tuesday, with variations in pollution levels across different areas. The residents are advised to take necessary precautions and monitor air quality updates for their well-being.
