Delve into the theory behind CM Mamata Banerjee’s injury

Kolkata Police SIT to probe “push” theory behind Mamata Banerjee’s injury

A special investigation team (SIT) of Kolkata Police will investigate the “push” theory behind the forehead injury that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered as she fell at her residence while walking. The theory emerged after the S.S.K.M. Medical College and Hospital Director, Manimoy Bandopadhyay, stated that she may have been “pushed” from behind.

The SIT, comprising officers from various departments, will be led by city police’s Vineet Kumar Goyal. The team will examine CCTV footage and question security personnel at Banerjee’s residence in Kalighat. The investigation will also assess current security measures at the Chief Minister’s residence.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when Banerjee tripped in her premises, leading to a forehead injury. Following treatment at S.S.K.M. Hospital, where she received four stitches, the “push” theory was revealed by the hospital director to the media, sparking further inquiry.

The city police are treating the matter seriously, given its implications for a V.V.I.P. like the Chief Minister. In addition to focusing on the alleged “push” behind the accident, the SIT will evaluate the security protocols in place at Banerjee’s residence to ensure her safety.
