Demi Lovato Tattoos and the Hidden Meaning Behind Them

Demi Lovato has been using her body as a way to document the highs and lows of her life. The world-famous musician and recovering addict are consistently in the news. The singer has around 20 tattoos depicting important parts of her life from her singing career to her sobriety. While some are just references to her journey in life. Some have spiritual meaning behind them.

This may be intriguing to you that Demi Lovato got her first tattoo at the age of 16. She explained at iHeartRadio in 2014 that she was dying to get a tattoo so got it done in “some tattoo artist’s apartment” as a way to rebel. “It was so sketch, it was in L.A., but I wanted to get tattooed so bad,” they said.

The latest piece in her tattoo collection is a tattoo of a giant spider on the side of her head. She explained the meaning behind the spider through her Instagram story. She wrote-  “It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things. She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web-each one of us has our place in this world.”

By the end of 2019, Demi Lovato got a “Survivor” tattoo inked on her neck. Although, the meaning behind this is still unclear it may be a reference to her sobriety. 

Demi lovato Lion Tattoo

Demi Lovato debuted her ‘Butterfly’ Tattoo in 2020 on the left side of her neck. It signifies her song Butterfly was featured on her album Dancing With the Devil. 

She is best known for the lion tattoo that she got on her right hand. Demi Lovato never clearly stated the meaning behind it but may indicate her zodiac sign (Leo) or bravery and courage as the lion indicates.
