Design patent filed for 2024 Honda Africa Twin – what has changed?

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has filed a new design patent for the 2024 Africa Twin in India, updating the adventure tourers. The 2024 Africa Twin features a revised headlamp and a more powerful engine tune, with the possibility of a launch in the near future.

The 2024 Africa Twin offers two colour schemes – Matt Ballistic Black Metallic and Pearl Glare White. The India-spec model has a lower seat version with an adjustable seat height between 810 mm and 830 mm, making it accessible to more riders compared to the European model.

Equipped with features like a tall windscreen, large fuel tank, bash plate, and spoked wheels, the 2024 Africa Twin is designed for adventure touring enthusiasts. The motorcycle maintains a sleek appearance with the updated design elements.

Powering the 2024 Africa Twin is a 1,084 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 100.5 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm, an increase from the previous model. The bike offers gearbox options of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for a versatile riding experience.

For suspension, the Africa Twin features 45 mm upside-down forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear, sourced from Showa. Braking duties are handled by discs at the front and rear wheels, with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in 110/80 and 150/70 tyres respectively.

The updated 2024 Honda Africa Twin showcases a blend of design enhancements and performance upgrades, catering to the demands of the adventure touring segment. With a focus on rider comfort, accessibility, and power, the Africa Twin aims to deliver a thrilling riding experience on all terrains.
