Dibyendu Bhattacharya enjoys collecting souvenirs from movie sets
Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, known for several acclaimed films, has shared his fondness for collecting souvenirs from film sets. In a recent interview, he revealed that he likes to keep props used by his characters as mementos, showcasing his dedication to his craft.
In a conversation with YouTube channel Digital Commentary, Dibyendu expressed his practice of collecting souvenirs, stating, “I always collect souvenirs from film sets. If I’m shooting for a film and my character smokes a pipe, I would request the makers humbly if I could keep that pipe as a souvenir, if my character uses a zippo lighter in a film or a series, I would request the producers to allow me to keep the lighter.”
Recalling an incident where a female producer allegedly mistreated him over a souvenir, Dibyendu shared, “In one project, I kept a watch as a souvenir…After two months…I couldn’t find the watch. This woman told me, ‘Accha bech diya usko (Oh you sold it)?’ Maine bola, “Is aurat ke saath toh main zindagi mein kabhi baat nahi karunga (I won’t talk to this woman ever).”
The actor also highlighted the challenges of playing smaller roles, emphasizing the pressure and limited time frame actors face when taking on such characters. Dibyendu explained, “Smaller roles are very difficult to play compared to the bigger characters. For smaller roles, people have huge expectations from you, and it’s particularly tricky because you enter the unit which has been working on the narrative for so long, and you have to crack the creative energy and then get into the groove for one or two days.”
Dibyendu Bhattacharya’s passion for acting and dedication to his craft shines through in his approach to collecting souvenirs and his perspective on the intricacies of playing different roles. As he continues to impress audiences with his performances, his insights into the industry offer a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of being a versatile actor.
