Divjot Wins Boys-8 Title, Arshvant Takes 2nd Place in Boys 13-14 at USKG Malaysian Championships

Pint-sized Divjot Gupta emerged as a top performer at the US Kids Malaysian Championships, winning the Boys 8 and Under category with a total score of 5-over 117. India saw success with Arshvant Srivastava securing second place in Boys 13-14. Overall, Indian contingent had a good outing with one win, one second place, and one third place.

In the Boys 8 and Under category, Divjot Gupta showcased his skills with a strong performance, finishing at the top with a six-shot lead over the runner-up from Indonesia. Another Indian, Ruslaan Alam Khan, secured the third position in the same category, adding to India’s success in the tournament.

Arshvant Srivastava’s impressive showing in the Boys 13-14 category earned him a second-place finish, despite late bogeys in his final round. Korean player Kang Geon clinched the title with a final round score of 73, leaving Arshvant one shot behind. Sohang Har Kantor and Ved Sai Machiraju also put up decent performances in the same category.

In the Boys 10 and Under category, Jot Sarup Gupta finished fourth, with Aoran Zhang of China emerging as the winner with a final round score of 74. Kriti Parekh, the lone Indian girl participant, faced challenges on the back nine but managed to secure the fourth position in the Girls 13-14 category.

The US Kids Malaysian Championships, which featured 106 junior golfers from 16 countries, saw India’s seven-member contingent achieving commendable results. The event provided WAGR points and Priority points for entries into future championships, highlighting the competitive nature of the tournament in Kuala Lumpur.
