Dussehra 2021 will be celebrated on the 10th day of Navratri i.e.on 15th October 2021.It is celebrated as a day to win over a devil and also a mark of Goddess Durga had killed the demon, Mahishasura. 10 days battle came to an end on Vijayadashami. On this day, Kanya puja is also happening on this day. Young girls are worshipped as nine different forms of Goddess Durga.

Dussehra 2021: Date and Timing

Dussehra 2021 as per Drik Panchang, Dashami tithi or Dusshera begins from 06:52 PM on 14 October 2021 and ends at 06:02 on 15 October 2021.

Dussehra 2021: History and Significance

Dusshera is also celebrated as Lord Rama achieved victory over Ravana. Lord Rama is believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. On the 10th day of battle Lord Rama defeated the 10 headed Ravana. To celebrate this success of Lord Rama over Ravana or of god over demon also Dussehra is celebrated.

Dussehra 2021: Celebrations

On this day, idols of Goddess Durga and her kids Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikeya, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi are immersed. On this day Ramlila is also organized in different parts of the country. Ramlila is the brief presentation of whole Ramayana in the form of drama. Wherein actors plays various roles like Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Ravana.

Dussehra 2021: Puja Timings

The Vijay Muhurat will start at 2:02 pm on October 15 and continue till 2:48 pm. The aparahna puja muhurat is from 1:16 pm to 3:34 pm. The Dashami tithi starts at 6:52 pm on October 14 and will end at 6:02 pm on October 15.
