EaseMyTrip Q1 Results: Consolidated net profit jumps six-fold to Rs 15 crore

EaseMyTrip Q1 Results: Online travel company EaseMyTrip said on Monday that its consolidated net profit jumped to Rs 15.42 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. This is than six times more than expected. This is mainly because of the excellent performance of the air travel segment. The company had made a net profit of Rs 2.49 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

EaseMyTrip told BSE in a regulatory filing that its net income for the quarter under review stood at Rs 34.75 crore. It was Rs 12 crore in the same period a year ago. The company said that the revenue of the air route segment increased to Rs 18.87 crore as against Rs 3.50 crore in the year-ago period.

Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), EaseMyTrip, said on their Q1 Results, “Despite the challenges posed by the second wave of the pandemic, EaseMyTrip has performed strongly during the most challenging times for the travel and tourism industry. This has been possible due to our model of working with increased operational efficiencies and lower cost of operations.” Pitti added, “We are optimistic about the revival of the travel industry with a significant reduction in infection cases and a rapid pace of vaccination. “
