Eighth List of LS Polls: BJP Announces 11 Candidates, Replaces Sunny Deol in Gurdaspur

The BJP released its eighth list for the Lok Sabha elections, announcing 11 candidates from Odisha, Punjab, and West Bengal. Actor Sunny Deol replaced by Dinesh Singh ‘Babbu’ and Hans Raj Hans shifted to contest from Faridkot in Punjab.

The list includes leaders who were earlier associated with the Congress, AAP, and BJD. Bhartruhari Mahtab, Preneet Kaur, Ravneet Singh Bittu, and Sushil Kumar Rinku are among the candidates nominated by the BJP.

Preneet Kaur, the wife of former Punjab Chief Minister, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, a three-time Congress MP, are among the candidates fielded by the BJP. Rabindra Narayan Behera, Sukant Kumar Panigrahi, and Taranjit Singh Sandhu are also among the candidates announced by the party.

Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who was India’s Ambassador to the US, will be BJP’s candidate from Amritsar. In West Bengal, the BJP has fielded Pranat Tudu from Jhargram and Debashish Dhar from Birbhum.
