Election Commission sent another show cause notice to Mamata Banerjee

The Election Commission has again issued a show-cause notice to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Through this notice, clarification has been sought in writing from Banerjee on the ill-fated attempt to tarnish the image of the central forces by making “false, provocative and sarcastic statements”.

A second notice has been sent by the Election Commission to the Trinamool Congress supremo within a week. A notice was issued to Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday, directing the Election Commission to submit a written explanation in the context of open demand for votes on a communal basis for its party in the current assembly elections in the state.

In the latest Election Commission notice issued on Thursday night, the Chief Minister has been asked to give his written explanation to the Commission before 11 am on April 10. It is also written in the notice that if they submitted their clarification by the stipulated time, then the commission will take a decision without informing them.

In a two-page notice sent to the Chief Minister, the Commission mentioned that a report with an authentic transcript of the Chief Minister’s speech made on March 28 by the CEO of West Bengal stated, “Who gave him so much power that the Central Police Threatening women without allowing them to vote, I saw the same in 2019. I saw the same in 2016. “

In another part, he said, “I know under whose direction they beat and how they assaulted.” It is your duty to save the family of the people. If any of your mothers and sisters get hurt by a stick, then attack them … I am telling you. It is the right of women and, if any of our mothers and sisters are denied entry into the voting compartment, then you come out and rebel. ” The Commission also referred to a speech given by him in Cooch Behar on 7 April.
