Elon Musk has changed his avatar and the change has surprised his fans and interesting fallout was the unprecedented 900% crypto rally of a particular meme coin.
Elon Musk has changed his name to “Kekius Maximus” on X and his new profile picture has also been changed to the controversial meme character, Pepe the Frog.
All these actions have caused a stir among his fans and there is a great deal of intrigue and a search for answers.
The changes have also been derided by critics because it represented potential connections with far-right ideologies, while others speculate about Musk’s intentions.
‘Kekius Maximus’ Crypto Coin’s Value Skyrockets
The most notable impact of the change has been on a meme coin of the same name whose values grew by gargantuan proportions.
The Tesla XEO has also not provided any explanation for the change but his new handle and profile images have had a huge impact on social media and cryptocurrency circles.
Elon Musk’s net handle “Kekius,” is a twisted rendition of internet slang “kek,” with “Maximus”.
For the unversed, “Maximus” is the name of the gallant Roman general from the film Gladiator.

I don’t think the world is ready for Elon Musk or the things he’s doing. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/vCbg22Su3o
Also the profile picture “Pepe the Frog” is dressed in Roman martial attire and is holding a game joystick.
The symbols are being interpreted in different ways by the internet sleuths who are trying to fathom Musk’s intentions.
The dichotomy of the word “Kekius Maximus” leads to different interpretations since it is derived from multiple cultural and internet sources.
The word ‘Kek’ is an altered version of “LOL” (laugh out loud) and is a common lingo among internet trolls and alt-right groups.
One interpretation of “Kek” as a “virtual white nationalist god” for the ultra right groups like Identity Evropa has increased worries of the resurgence of new white supremacy activism.
“Maximus” refers to Maximus Decimus Meridius, the general played by Russell Crowe in Gladiator. The two strong symbols have led to concerns about what Musk is trying to hint at.
“Pepe the Frog” is also a character from the comic series Boy’s Club and has often been associated with ultra right sections of the populace especially during the 2016 US Presidential elections.
The name by itself looks innocuous but it has been associated with white supremacy groups which spews hatred against other sections of the society.
Cryptocurrency and Musk have a long association and often the fortunes of memecoins have changed due to the Tesla chief’s social media posts.
His earlier posts had an effect on the values of Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and other digital currencies and the latest situations once again underline his significant sway on the digital currency market.
