Elon Musk Mocks Meta Amid Widespread Outage on Platforms

New Delhi, March 5 (IANS) As Meta faced a significant outage affecting Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads, Elon Musk mocked Mark Zuckerberg’s services, sharing a meme depicting X as the captain leading the team. The outage disrupted services for users globally, including in India.

The outage led to millions of users being unable to access their accounts on Meta platforms, prompting frustration and complaints on other social media platforms. Musk joined in by sharing a meme of X overseeing the apps and referencing a post by Meta spokesperson Andy Stone.

Stone acknowledged the issues, stating, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.” Musk added humor to the situation, saying, “If you’re reading this post, it’s because our servers are working.”

Earlier in the day, Musk expressed his readiness to challenge Zuckerberg, emphasizing his willingness to face off anywhere, anytime, and under any rules. The outage highlighted the reliance on Meta platforms for global communication and the impact of service disruptions on users worldwide.

Despite the outage, some users found solace in using X as a functional social media platform amidst the widespread disruption. The incident serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of digital platforms and the need for robust infrastructure to prevent such widespread outages in the future.
