Tesla Chief and head of the DOGE department Elon Musk is facing the heat for his off-the-cuff remarks. The controversy erupted when Musk commented on a meme which featured Sydney Sweeney. The SpaceX CEO posted a picture of the actor smiling with a caption which read,

“Watching Trump slash federal programs because it doesn’t affect you because you’re not a member of the ‘Parasite Class.’”

Must also posted a comment on X which stated that 90% of the people of America agree with the action which the DOGE is doing.

Musk was severely trolled by netizens on social media. Users also remembered that his companies benefited enormously from government contracts which were all funded by taxpayer money.

Users also stated that Musk has no qualms in reaping gargantuan profits from government contracts but is piqued by welfare schemes whose benefits are accrued by millions of Trump supporters but still Musk calls them parasites.

Elon Musk Criticized for “Parasite Class” Remark

Social media users also derided Musk and called his actions disgusting. Musk was also condemned for rejoicing for cutting off aid for the most vulnerable sections of society like the poor, disabled, the mentally sick and the elderly. Worse, Musk considered this class of people subhuman and called them parasites which is particularly disgusting.

Musk was also accused of fomenting a class struggle and one user wrote,

“This should make you angry. This is class warfare, and there’s a very big chance you (like most people) and him aren’t on the same team,”

Another user added,

“He’s calling people who receive any kind of federal assistance “parasites” while profiting heavily from every single government benefit he can get. The only parasite I see is Elon Musk. I’m so tired and disgusted,”

The Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is investigating the spending of several federal departments including IRS, USAID and the Department of Education.

Elon Musk and his actions are often described as non-compassionate which is surprising since he is the recipient of some of the nation’s biggest federal contracts.

However, Musk is unfazed by the criticism and has posted over 200 times in 24 hours about DOGE’s progress in saving billions of dollars from agencies fraught with the wasteful expenditure of government funds.

The DOGE department has gone on top gear and government agencies are in fear if they could be the next target. Musk has also tasked a group of Gen-Z’ers to conduct interviews with government workers and ask them to explain why they should be employed.

Elon Musk had continuously mocked his detractors regardless of their positions as members of Congress or Federal workers.

However, he is unaware that many of the beneficiaries of these programs also include members of the Trump coalition, like first-generation Missouri farmer Skylar Holden who is now repenting for voting for Trump after the latter froze certain Department of Agriculture spending which served as a lifeline for many farmers like Holden.
