Emraan Hashmi: I don't think I can play completely clean, righteous person

Mumbai, Feb 27 (IANS) – Emraan Hashmi, known for his portrayal of anti-hero roles, is set to star in the upcoming streaming series ‘Showtime’ where he will play a character with grey shades named Raghu Khanna. The show also features a stellar cast including Mahima Makwana, Mouni Roy, and Naseeruddin Shah.

Explaining his preference for such roles, Emraan stated, “I don’t think I can play a completely clean, righteous person from at least my screen image. Part and parcel of it is a little bit because of the way I look.” He added that he did not choose these roles at the beginning of his career but embraced them and the audience accepted him in characters with grey shades.

Directed by Archit Kumar and created by Sumit Roy, ‘Showtime’ is set to premiere on March 8 on Disney+ Hotstar. Emraan’s portrayal of complex characters with shades of grey has been well received by audiences, and his performance in ‘Showtime’ is highly anticipated by fans.
