Excited Delhi Capitals newcomers gearing up for IPL 2024

In the recent IPL 2024 mini-auction, Delhi Capitals acquired three promising talents – Sumit Kumar, Kumar Kushagra, and Ricky Bhui. The players are currently gearing up in Visakhapatnam under the guidance of head coach Ricky Ponting and DC director Sourav Ganguly.

Kumar Kushagra, a first-class cricketer with 1245 runs, expressed his enthusiasm, “I am very excited to be a part of the IPL for the first time. My main aim would be to win games for Delhi Capitals.” He also shared his experience of batting with Rishabh Pant and learning from the star player during training sessions.

All-rounder Sumit, with 574 runs and 43 wickets in T20s, reflected on his journey to securing an IPL contract, “It’s been a long journey for me, and I’m grateful to join Delhi Capitals this year.” Additionally, local talent Ricky, with 1497 runs in T20s, is confident about performing well in familiar conditions and aims to win matches for the team.

Delhi Capitals are set to face Punjab Kings in their tournament opener in Chandigarh on March 23. The trio of new recruits are eager to showcase their skills and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
