Experience Rural Homestays in UP: A Unique Perspective for Tourists

Lucknow, March 14 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh tourism department has partnered with rural homestay providers to enhance the experience of tourists visiting rural areas. These homestays offer a unique farm stay experience, showcasing local culture, cuisine, and folklore.

UP tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh stated: “The tourism department is providing subsidies for setting up farm stays in rural and near major destinations under the Tourism Policy 2022. Selected villages are being transformed into rural tourism centers, offering a unique rural tourism experience along with local culture.”

Singh further added, “These hubs provide experiential tourism with internet connectivity. Tourists can explore seasonal crops and eco-gardens, experiencing rural life and engaging in various rural activities during their stay. The state has immense tourism potential, and rural tourism is rapidly gaining popularity.”

For instance, ‘My Mom Rural Homestay’ in Basti and ‘Gulmohar Rural Homestay’ in Udaipurwa offer tourists a glimpse into rural life. These homestays, located in Banda district, provide 4-5 rooms with basic facilities for visitors.

Rural tourism is a growing trend in Uttar Pradesh, offering tourists a chance to immerse themselves in the state’s cultural heritage, historical monuments, and natural beauty. With the opening of new rural homestays, tourists can now experience the charm of rural life and engage with local communities during their stay.
