Expert suggests moisturizing skin and using petroleum jelly on lips for Holi

Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) As Holi approaches, skincare becomes a top priority to protect our skin from the harsh colours. Make-up expert Harlin Sachdeva shared essential tips for pre and post-care routines to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.

Sachdeva emphasized the importance of skin preparation before playing with colours. “Apply moisturiser, petroleum jelly on lips, eyes, and eyebrows, and a thin layer of oil if your skin tolerates it. Don’t forget to use sunscreen with SPF 50,” she advised.

Choosing organic and non-toxic colours is highly recommended by Sachdeva. She mentioned, “Opt for safe colours made from plants and flowers, which are gentler on the skin.” After the festivities, she suggested using gentle methods like micellar water or oil-based removers to wipe off the colours.

For stubborn stains, Sachdeva recommended DIY remedies like yogurt and honey or baking soda and water paste. She warned against harsh exfoliants and vigorous scrubbing to prevent further skin irritation. Using calming agents and moisturisers with ceramides and soothing ingredients like aloe vera post-Holi is essential for skin recovery.

With these expert tips, you can enjoy a vibrant and safe Holi celebration while taking care of your skin. Remember to prioritize skincare to avoid any post-Holi skin troubles.
