Famous dancer Astad Deboo died at the age of 73

Dance Legend Astad Deboo died on Thursday morning. Deboo’s death of 73 years has been informed by his family members

The family members have said in the information released on social media, “On the morning of December 10, he departed from this world. After a brief illness, he died at his home in Mumbai. He has left behind a rich legacy. His dedication to art is indelible. There have been a large number of people who like his dance. This death is going to grieve family, friends, and people associated with the world of dance. We will miss them. May his soul rest in peace. ”

Deboo will be remembered as a new grammar in modern Indian dance. In 1995, Debu was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for contribution to contemporary creative dance.

The Sangeet Natak Akademi said in its quote that Deboo will be remembered for theater-style dance. In 2007, he was awarded the Padma Shri.

Deboo did many experiments in dance. These experiments were a test of dance’s design, theme, concept, and performance space.

His Temperament/Combination with other dancers was also amazing. Deboo is known for his amazing expression in contemporary dance art of India.

Deboo was born on 13 July 1947 in Navsari city of Gujarat. He took Kathak training from Prahlad Das and learned from Kathakali I Panikkar.

After this, Deboo took training in modern dance at London School of Contemporary Dance. Apart from this, he also learned to dance in New York.
