Fans engaging in fisticuffs during India vs Afghanistan Cricket World Cup 2023 match, video goes viral

The match between India and Afghanistan ended in a happy manner with India chasing a target of 272 runs and achieved it with ease after losing only 2 wickets. However the festive mood was marred by ugly scenes between fans. A video clip which has since become viral shows fans engaging in fisticuffs and thrashing one another during the World Cup 2023 match between India and Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The match between India and Afghanistan was the second match for the Indians and they managed to beat Afghanistan convincingly. The star of the match was Rohit Sharma who hit a scintillating knock of a century in just 63 balls. Many records tumbled and Rohit Sharma became the player to have hit the most number of centuries in the World Cup breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

Virat Kohli also played exceedingly well and made an unbeaten half century and also hit the winning run. The bowling attack was spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah who took four wickets in ten overs while conceding only 39 runs.

However what has come as a jarring incident is the video which has since become viral and depicted fans in dealing blows and jostling one another. The incident was captured on camera and has since gone viral. The video is being shared by fans and among them was an account called ICT Fan who shared the video on the microblogging platform X.

The video shows fans dealing blows while some were recording the scene on their smartphones. The video also shows fans that were making desperate attempts to separate them. It is very sad to see such scenes during a match. The ICC World Cup is a festival for celebrating the spirit of the game and such elements who create ruckus must be dealt with severely.
