Five individuals arrested under the Public Safety Act in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR, April 2 (IANS) – Five individuals have been detained by the police in J&K’s Baramulla district for disrupting law and order. The accused have been identified as Asif Ali Bhat, Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat, Waseem Mehraj Farash alias Waseem Farash, Bashir Ahmad Sualiah and Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Shakir, and have been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

According to a police press statement, the detainees have a history of involvement in anti-national and anti-social activities, with multiple cases registered against them for disturbances in law and order. Despite facing charges in many FIRs, they continued their unlawful activities.

The police have confirmed that the accused individuals have been placed in the Kotbalwal central jail in Jammu and Udhampur district jail.

The actions taken by the police show their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region. The authorities are cracking down on individuals who are attempting to disrupt the tranquility of J&K, and these detentions serve as a warning to others who may try to instigate unrest.
