Five youths arrested for the gang-rape and forced conversion of a minor in Uttar Pradesh

In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, five youths have been arrested for forcibly converting and gang-raping a minor girl in the Hardi area of the district. The incident took place when the Dalit minor girl was kidnapped, converted, and assaulted by the accused. The mother reported the crime, leading to the arrest of all five suspects on Saturday.

According to the mother, her daughter was taken from her grandmother’s residence on February 2 by five youths, who then forced her to convert to their religion and subjected her to sexual assault. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vrinda Shukla visited the site with other officers, ordering thorough evidence collection and strict action against the perpetrators. The victim mentioned that she was threatened with death if she spoke out against the accused.

The arrested individuals, identified as Anees, Saddam, Mohiuddeen, Aleem, and Baura, are now in custody as legal proceedings have been initiated against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The SP confirmed that the girl will undergo a medical examination as part of the investigation process.

The gruesome incident has sparked outrage in Bahraich, with authorities working swiftly to ensure justice for the victim. The girl’s safety and well-being are paramount as the legal proceedings unfold in response to this heinous crime.
