FMSCI Annual Awards: Federation to honour National Champions on star-studded night

The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) is all set to hold its Annual Awards function in Chennai on Wednesday to honor the 105 National champions of the 2023 season across various disciplines, promoters, and sponsors. Special awards will be presented to winners of international competitions.

Reflecting on the 2023 season, FMSCI President Akbar Ebrahim expressed satisfaction with the progress made in motorsport in India. He highlighted the India debut of FIM MotoGP as a major achievement and emphasized the positive response it received, putting India firmly on the global motorsport map. Ebrahim also mentioned the successful launch of franchise-based Supercross and the participation of pan-India talent and foreign competitors in Indian Racing League and Formula 4 races.

Ebrahim acknowledged the individual successes of Indian racers in international competitions, citing Harith Noah’s podium finish in the Dakar Rally and Prarthana Murugavel’s gold medal win in Karting Slalom at the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship. He also noted strong participation in all National Championships in the 4W, 2W, and Karting disciplines, emphasizing the increasing number of women taking part in motorsport and competing alongside men.

Looking ahead, Ebrahim expressed hope for an even more thrilling and spectacular 2024 season, thanking all the competitors, sponsors, promoters, officials, and the media for their whole-hearted involvement and support in the development and growth of motorsport in India.
