Former Congress MLA Vivek Dhakad takes his own life in Bhilwara, Rajasthan

Former Congress MLA Vivek Dhakad allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Subhash Nagar, Bhilwara district, Rajasthan on Thursday. The reason cited for the suicide is family discord, with Dhakad having slashed his vein.

Police officials have confirmed the incident, stating that Dhakad’s body is currently in the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. The police team reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.

Shivraj Gurjar, Inspector of Subhash Nagar police station mentioned, “The reason behind his suicide is yet to be determined. The family is in grief, so we have not spoken to them. Post-mortem procedures are being conducted.”

Vivek Dhakad had won the by-election to the Mandalgarh constituency in 2018 by defeating BJP’s Shakti Singh Hada. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
