Free Liam Nissan Trending on X: Musk and Politicians Dragged In Demanding for Liam Nissan’s Account Restoration

Liam Nissan is an X account with user ID @theliamnissan which shares comedic commentary on the platform including criticisms of the owner of X, Elon Musk.

However, as per a recent media release, Liam Nissan’s X account has been suspended on February 18, 2024, Sunday.

The suspension of the account has outraged the netizens online. The majority of users are asking for the restoration of the account.

Musk was also dragged to this, as he is popular for suspending the accounts of people who pose a threat to the X owner and his supporters.

Thus, as the news goes viral, the #FreeLiamNissan starts trending online.

Netizens’ Reactions To Liam Nissan’s X Account Suspension

The alleged suspension of Liam Nissan’s X account has resulted in the outrageous nature of the netizens on the social media platform.

The suspension of the account could be witnessed after an online brawl between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and X account “Liam Nissan” that he misunderstood was the actor Liam Neeson’s account.

Abbott called Liam Neeson last week after the posts criticizing the Republicans appeared on the parody account. The posts claimed that the Republicans wished to build a border wall. Thus, in response, Abbott in a now-deleted reply wrote, “

Another Hollywood Actor thinking they know what’s best for Texas. Listen here Liam, make like an actor, and learn your role, and leave dealing with the border to me.”

He misunderstood the account to belong to Taken actor Liam Neeson.

Thus, post-suspension of Liam Nissan’s X account, Abbott was dragged on X subsequently. Thus, the hashtag movement spreads rapidly demanding Liam Nissan’s account restoration. During this, netizens also called Musk a huge hypocrite because the Tesla founder talked about nurturing “free speech” on X, the previous year.

Musk, promoting free speech on X, wrote,

“At the risk of stating the obvious, I don’t know what’s going on with every part of this platform all the time, but our policy worldwide is to fight for maximum freedom of speech under the law. Anyone working for X Corp who does not operate according to this principle will be invited to further their career at any one of the other social media companies who sell their soul for a buck.”
