India’s badminton star PV Sindhu has advanced to the quarter-final of the French Open Super 750 tournament after defeating Beiwen Zhang of the USA in a hard-fought match. The match saw Sindhu making a strong comeback after losing the first game.

In a thrilling encounter, Zhang initially had a lead of 11-7 against Sindhu in the first game, eventually winning it 21-13 due to multiple errors on Sindhu’s part. However, Sindhu turned the tables in the second game, clinching a comprehensive victory with a score of 21-10.

The decider game witnessed Sindhu dominating Zhang with her aggressive gameplay, as she took a lead of 11-7 with precise shots and strategic play at the nets. Eventually, Sindhu sealed the match with a 21-14 win in the final game, securing her spot in the quarter-final of the tournament.

In the men’s singles event, Kidambi Srikanth faced a tough challenge against Lu Guang Zu of China. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Srikanth succumbed to defeat with a scoreline of 21-19, 12-21, 20-22. Sindhu remains India’s hope for a title victory in the French Open as she advances to the next round.
