Gaddam Srinivas Yadav to be the BRS candidate from Hyderabad

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has named Gaddam Srinivas Yadav as its candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in Telangana. BRS President and former Telangana Chief Minister, KC Rao, made the announcement after consulting with party leaders from the constituency.

Srinivas Yadav, who was previously eyeing a ticket from Goshamahal constituency in the Assembly elections, will now represent BRS in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party has now finalized candidates for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana for the May 13 elections.

The Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat has been a stronghold of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for the past four decades. With BRS entering the fray, it sets the stage for an interesting battle in the constituency with AIMIM’s dominance being challenged.

The announcement of candidates by BRS comes at a crucial time as political alignments shift in the state. The friendly ties between BRS and AIMIM during BRS’s rule have now been replaced by a more complex political landscape with Congress trying to build a bridge with AIMIM.

Amidst these developments, the BJP has already declared its candidate Madhavi Latha for the Hyderabad seat. The Congress, on the other hand, is yet to announce its contender, setting the stage for a three-way contest in the upcoming elections.
