Born in Waterbury Township, MN, in 1931, Gayland Halter led a remarkable life. Serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he later became a dedicated educator, serving as a social studies teacher and administrator at Aitken High School and the Osseo School District. In 1970, he became the first principal of North View Junior High School, retiring in 1987. His post-retirement contributions included part-time work for St. Cloud State, supervising student teachers.
