Glenn Maxwell breaks his leg after a freak accident at a birthday party in Melbourne

As per the latest news, Glenn Maxwell met with an accident during his friend’s birthday party. Due to this, he has been removed from the next ODI series between Australia and England. 

Although it has also been predicted that they might be missing the Big Bash League session entirely. Due to his broken leg, he will be taking complete rest and will be on a long break. 

Glenn Maxwell’s health update

According to the latest reports, ESPNCricinfo broke his leg during his birthday party. Glenn Maxwell has a fracture on his fibula, due to which he is gonna be needing surgery too. 

The news also mentioned that Glenn Maxwell was in his backyard during the party, somehow his leg got trapped and he slipped fracturing it. He wasn’t intoxicated during the mishap. 

Australia’s national selector George Bailey updated the world on Maxwell’s health status, saying he “is in good spirit”.

“It was an unfortunate accident and we feel for Glenn in the circumstances given he was in great touch in his last few games. Glenn is a critical part of our white-ball structure and we will continue to support him through his recovery and rehabilitation,” Bailey was quoted as saying in the report.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, Maxwell’s IPL franchise also wished his a speedy recovery with a quote-. “Wishing you a speedy recovery, @Gmaxi_32. Can’t wait to see you smash them cricket balls again!” the franchisee wrote on social media.

Sean Abbott will be stepping in his shoes in the upcoming matches. The series against England will commence in Adelaide on 17th November. Later, the series will shift its base to Sydney and then to Melbourne, ending on 22nd November.
