Goa govt to launch public oriented programs ahead of LS polls

Goa Govt to Reach Out to People Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

The Goa government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, has decided to launch several programs to connect with the people ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election. This initiative comes as the government marks five years since Sawant took over as Chief Minister.

Sawant stated, “I am completing 5 years as Chief Minister on March 19, but during that time the election Code of Conduct may come into force. Hence to mark these five years we have decided to reach out to people,” Sawant told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

The government will launch the ‘Panchayat Chalo Abhiyan’ on February 27, with all 12 ministers visiting the panchayats of all 12 talukas of the state to listen to people’s grievances and address their issues.

Additionally, the government has planned ‘Public Oriented Programs’ to ensure that all citizens benefit from government schemes. This includes a review program of ‘Swayampurn Goa 2.0’ on March 2 and the distribution of 30 thousand spectacles to students on March 4 under the Vision for all scheme.

In honor of Women’s Day, programs for women will be organized by the Women and Child Development and Rural Development Authority, with an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Furthermore, a ‘Youth Conclave’ organized by the Tourism Department is also scheduled to mark the five years of the government.

The initiatives aim to engage with the people and address their concerns before the upcoming Lok Sabha election and the imposition of the Election Code of Conduct.
