In 1976, the Goa Legislative Assembly issued a resolution demanding full statehood status for Goa, after which it was recognized on 30 May 1987. The length of national highways in Goa is 264 km and the length of provincial highways is 279.4 km. Along with crops like coconut, cashew, betel nut and sugarcane, Goa also grows pineapple, mango and banana.
