Godrej Yummiez, a popular frozen ready-to-cook brand, is all set to enter the South African market in the first quarter of the next financial year. This decision comes after the brand successfully ventured into the markets of Singapore and Bangladesh. The AVP of Yummiez, Mohit Marwaha, has stated that the company is exploring opportunities in South Africa due to its significant Indian diaspora, and the UK also remains on the cards for future expansion.
Furthermore, the brand plans to invest ₹25-30 crore in establishing dedicated Yummiez freezers in shops across India within the next 2-3 years. Yummiez is also looking to expand its sachet format by adding more products in both the veg and non-veg segments within the next quarter.
Marwaha also expressed his belief in the potential growth of the frozen food category, citing positive changes in infrastructure, supply chain, and storage for stock. He also sees competition as beneficial for the small category of frozen food market, as it can increase awareness and lead to faster category growth.
Addressing the prevailing consumer perception that frozen food lacks healthiness and contains preservatives, Marwaha emphasized that Yummiez does not have any preservatives and highlighted the benefits of frozen food, such as its nutritional value and convenience.
With these plans for international expansion and product development, Godrej Yummiez is poised for significant growth and is set to offer more options to consumers globally. The company’s commitment to providing high-quality, preservative-free frozen food products aligns with the increasing demand for convenient and healthy food options.
