However many experts contend that the picture and the link about the girl is fake and it is most likely a scam.

One of the reasons for the Gracie Mae Thompson Missing story being fake is that there has been no official amber alert or any reports confirming her disappearance.

The Gracie Mae Thompson Missing story started with a heartfelt plea for help in tracing the missing girl.

However, it quickly became a viral sensation that captivated social media with Facebook users across the country sharing posts in hopes of finding Gracie.

As days passed several discrepancies and doubts about the case began to emerge and there are fears that this might be another internet scam.

The alleged disappearance happened on July 22, 2024.

The news about the missing girl, Gracie Mae Thompson, appeared on websites which are not associated with missing persons and made many wonder if it is another scam in light of a series of scams involving missing persons in the states around Texas.

Another strange fact about the posts is that none of them said that the Police are involved as is common practice in such cases.

There are also some reports which stated that the girl has been found while most reports continue to say that the girl is still missing.

Two Facebook users Tyler Hudson and Ramon L. DeStefano first talked about Graci Mae Thompson’s disappearance and their posts contained a detailed description of Gracie who is reported to be last seen wearing black shorts and a black shirt.

The posts also featured two photographs of Gracie Mae Thompson but there is no way to verify if these pictures are really of the missing girl.

The posts soon became viral and it was shared 200 times by concerned individuals and quickly spread across the world.

The emotional appeal soon found traction with many netizens but doubts started to emerge after different posts started claiming that Garci went missing from different locations including Columbia Gorge, Hudson, Stockton, and Pickens County.

Another fact which is raising the suspicions is that the story is appearing on pages like “Stuff For Sale,” “Upper/Lower Kittitas County Auction,” and “Odessa Texas Trading Post.

Scamfinder, a blog which specializes in tracking and reporting scams, has warned that this story could be used to spread malware and viruses. The emotional content of the story could lead to people clicking on it to know the details and scammers could take advantage of it.
