Gravity Falls Season 3 Countdown Website Debunked: Fans Misled by Viral Prank

So a hint by Meredith Roberts suggested that ‘Gravity Falls’ might have a third season, which is a Disney production, and needless to say, people got psyched up because of that. The excitement started spreading more when a website, which was literally for a countdown, popped up and people started getting way too sure of the new season for the show.

Gravity Falls Season 3 Countdown Website Debunked

However, things got sad when the confirmation of the site being a hoax came. There was no official confirmation that the series will get a new season or not from the Disney page.

‘Gravity Falls’ is a popular Disney Channel show that started from June 2012 to February 2016. The last season was the 2nd installment of the show. The show was canceled, but people were excited to see the show, and Disney shorts kept it alive.

The website that had the countdown and all was named ThisIsNotAWebsite.com, which is a hint from the book written by Alex Hirsch, who is also the creator of ‘Gravity Falls’. Now the site had a whole thing to bypass the countdown and to get to the main part, just for people to understand it was a prank website.

Even though rumors and hope are still on about the return of this new season, there has been no official confirmation of the same. However, people are hopeful that good news might come to light as the Disney fan convention is set to come up in August 2024, so there might be an announcement. As Alex previously mentioned, the show was designed to have a clear ending.

“The first thing to know is that the show isn’t being canceled- it’s being finished. This is 100% my choice, and its something I decided on a very long time ago. I always designed ‘Gravity Falls’ to be a finite series about one epic summer- a series with a beginning, middle, and end. There are so many shows that go on endlessly until they lose their original spark or mysteries that are canceled before they ever get a chance to pay off,”

is what Alex said.

Now the only thing we as fans can do is wait and hope for some miraculous news to come up and sweep us off our feet!
