In order to execute their campaign, the authority has started organizing informational camps for local residents. The camp will help and teach them how to fill up forms along with their submission to the concerned authority to obtain sewer connections. The main aim of this initiative is to address sanitation problems in urban villages where fecal matter usually cause a lot of health-related issues.

The authority’s water department conducts such camps from 10 am to 4 pm. Now, residents don’t have to come all the way to the office for it. Currently, camps have been conducted in Achchar, Jaitpur, Bironda, and Sakipur till now.

In the next move, these camps will also be organized in Tugalpur and Chakrsenpur villages in the coming days and in Dabra and Gurjarpur too. The authority has included a few social groups to spread awareness regarding how to obtain sewer connections free of cost to residents.

Greater Noida “Har Ghar sewer connection”

“We will first provide sewer connection in villages where sewer pipes have been laid and connected with the main sewer line. Following this, we will connect each house in every village that falls under the jurisdiction of the authority,” Salil Yadav, in-charge general manager, of Greater Noida authority, said.

Greater Noida is built from the land taken from 124 villages, out of which 36 have been given with sewer lines. “The authority has fixed a deadline of one and half years to lay pipelines and connect them with the main sewer line. The objective is to trap, treat and recycle sewer waste so that it does not flow into the Hindon and Yamuna,” Yadav added.
