Every year on January 17, the birth anniversary of the tenth Guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh is celebrated. Hence, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is an annual celebration that falls on January 17, Wednesday, in 2024. According to the Hindu Calendar, in the Pausha month, Shukla Paksha, and Saptami Tithi, Guru Gobind Singh Ji took birth.
Significance
As per the Julian calendar, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth sikh guru took birth on December 22, 1966, in Patna, Bihar. However, the Julian calendar has become outdated and is no more in use. The father of Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Tegh Bahadur was killed ruthlessly by Aurangzeb in 1675 when Tegh Bahadur refused to join Islam. Guru Gobind Singh’s mother’s name was Mata Gujri. In 1676 on Baisakhi, Gobind Singh was sworn as the tenth Guru of the Sikhs.

Stories of Guru Nanak Vani are preached by people and Langars are also given to everyone. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th guru revered, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,” the khalsa Vani.
