Gurugram Apartment Roof Collapse: 1 dead, 2 trapped, Cops file case against builder

Gurugram Apartment Roof Collapse: A part of a multi-storey residential building collapsed in Gurugram on Thursday evening in which 1 person died while 2 trapped under the rubble.

According to information from the officials “The living room floor of the sixth-floor apartment in the Chintels Paradiso housing complex collapsed first, followed by the ceilings and floors below. Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in rescue work. An earth-moving machine and a fire engine have been deployed along with an elevated platform in the rescue work.

Deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav said that one person died and efforts were on to rescue people trapped under the rubble who is unconscious. He told that a woman is also feared to be trapped there.

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar tweeted about the incident and said that the rescue operation is on. “I am personally monitoring the situation and pray for everyone’s safety,” Khattar said.

According to the local residents, the part of Tower D which has been collapsed was built in 2018. There are three other towers in the complex. The 18-storey Tower D has four bedroom apartments. The housing complex management blamed negligence during repairs for this extremely unfortunate incident that happened around 7 pm on thursday.
