Diwali or Deepawali is one of the most auspicious festivals in Hindu traditions. It is also known as the “Festival of Lights” and shows the victory of good over evil. It signifies no matter what the situation is light always wins over darkness. This year in 2022, Diwali will be celebrated on October 24th.

Diwali Origin

Historically, in Hindu culture, Diwali originated from the era of Lord Rama. On this day, Lord Rama, his wife Sita and brother Laxman returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravan, he also completed 4 years of exile in the forest. Besides that, Diwali’s origin goes back to even before Ramayan, it was the time when the churning of the ocean’s milk (kshir sagar) as Goddess Lakshmi comes out of the ocean as the boon to the Gods and humankind. Diwali signifies good over evil, light over darkness. It’s always about hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance.
