Rang Panchami 2023: One of the biggest Hindu celebrations in India is called Holi. In various regions of the nation, the fortunate holiday is observed over several days. Those who live largely in certain portions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and certain other north Indian districts celebrate Rang Panchami. Indian mythology states that Rang Panchami marks the conclusion of the Holi celebrations. The five elements of existence or also popularly known as the Panch Tatva, are also honored on this day, as the name would imply. Fire, Sky, Land, Air, and Water, are these tattvas or elements. Each of these components plays a very specific significance in one’s existence. This special occasion is observed annually exactly after 5 days following the Holika Dahan. When the holy fire is ignited, it is thought that all negative tendencies, including Rajasic as well as Tamsic traits, are destroyed.

Special cuisines are created and enjoyed in every home in some regions of the nation, particularly in Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat. On special occasions, processions with “Ger” gulal are carried out in various localities. This event is also regarded by the scriptures as the day when good forces became victorious. The Palkha dance is a favorite among many fisherfolks on this day. Several locations also have Dahi Handi competitions, where younger folks construct a human pyramid in an attempt to break the handi.

Popular mythology holds that Kamadeva was crushed to dust on the occasion of Holashtak by Lord Shiva for interfering with his penance. All the deities in the Devlok were discouraged by this. However, after the gods and Goddess Rati prayed, Lord Shiva revived Kamadeva once more. All the goddesses and deities were glad at this point and began to commemorate Rangotsav to commemorate the joyous event. After Holi festivities each year, the Rang Panchami celebration has been observed since then on the Panchami Tithi.
