Harford Mall Shooting Incident: Suspect Attested, One Casualty Reported 

The Harford Mall Shooting incident has dominated the media headlines as it occurred on Sunday.

The Bel Air Police reported that in the incident, gunfire was witnessed at the Harford Mall during a child’s birthday party.

The exact location of occurrence is 600 block of Belair Road. 

The police asked them to vacate the place with immediate action.

In the wake of this, Maryland’s municipal law enforcement agency took to social media and warned the Harford County residents to stay away from the area and avoid flocking. 

Local authorities along with the police department launched a joint investigation.

This was done following an immediate reaction to the gunfire exchange that took place at the shopping center. 

The incident resulted in one person being injured by the suspect.

Later, the suspect was arrested by police a few miles away. 

In this incident, two women from the birthday party were also arrested by the cops.

The name and identity of the victim who got injuries have been annoiunced. He is 42-year-old Richard Williams. Richard was transported to a local hospital later. 

The Former Scenario 

Initially, the police announced the active shooter situation at the spot as untrue due to unconfirmed reports. According to the police department, no threat was hovering in the area. 

The Bel Air Police Department in a post on Facebook wrote, “AVOID THE AREA OF HARFORD MALL WHILE WE INVESTIGATE A SHOOTING.”

Harford County fire officials also accompanied the police.

Cops also revealed that the people from Bel Air and EMS units were gathered at the scene. 

When police received reports of active shooting encircling the mall, a fresh dispatch of emergency units rushed to the spot. 

Pictures of police officials investigating the matter inside the Harford Mall in Maryland were circulating all over social media and were posted by the local press. 

As per initial reports, multiple suspects were involved in the shooting. However, until now, only one suspect, Wesley Larry Lyons has been arrested. The car in which the suspect tried to escape has also been recovered near the shooting spot, reported Times Now.
