Haryana Dominates 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championship
Haryana showcased their dominance at the 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championship held at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. The team clinched the team titles in both boys and girls categories, accumulating a total of 19 medals.
In the girls’ section, Haryana successfully defended their title with a remarkable performance, finishing on top of the table with 64 points. They secured 10 medals, including seven gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Six out of seven Haryana boxers won their matches with unanimous 5-0 decisions, highlighting their authority in the ring.
Among the standout performers for Haryana in the girls’ category were Diya (61kg) and Bhoomi (35kg) who both secured gold medals. Delhi and Maharashtra followed Haryana in the standings, finishing second and third respectively.
In the boys’ category, Haryana continued their winning streak with nine medals, including six gold, two silver, and one bronze. Uday Singh led the charge for Haryana with his victory in the 37kg category. Uttarakhand and UP secured second and third positions in the boys’ section.
The tournament witnessed the participation of 612 boxers, showcasing the growing talent in the national circuit. The event concluded with Haryana emerging as the champions in both boys and girls categories, solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse in Indian boxing.
With impressive performances and dominant victories, Haryana proved once again why they are considered a force to be reckoned with in the sport of boxing.
