Highrises along Noida Expressway to get facade lights

Just like in famous cities such as New York, Dubai, and Singapore, the high-rise building will soon get renovation along with a 25-km-long Noida expressway too will get facade lighting.

Recently Noida Authority has changed the building bylaws to make compulsory facade lighting in every building. Places that will get the lights in the first phase are Advent Building, One Sky, Amity University and ATS Tower.

Officials have confirmed lighting changes in the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act, making it compulsory to get facade lighting on an at least 40% of the front-facing part of buildings on any side of the expressway. The Act also states provisions for Noida Authority to decide the elevation along with the architectural layout of a building.

According to the new bylaw, the allottees will have full freedom to choose any type of lighting color. Lights can also be in any form such as multicolour or laser beams. Once the work is complete, it has to be reported to the authority within two months from the date of issue of a relevant notice.

The assigned authority has to approve the map of future projects on the condition that the developer has to make provision to have light at 40% part of the front of the building. Occupancy will also be provided once the work is completed. Additionally, if the work hasn’t started within two months after the issue of notice then the authority has the power to take strict against the allottee according to the conditions.

As per data, thousands of people use expressways on a daily basis. Mostly the commuters travel for work bases from Noida to Delhi along with visitors travelling to Agra, Delhi and Lucknow. Officials added that the existing street lighting does not look good or say give a picturesque view of the city at night.
