Hilary Duff Wins Lawsuit Against Naturalena, Awarded $1.25 Million
Hilary Duff’s battle against Naturalena, a female hygiene company, has reached its conclusion and it ended positively for Hilary. It was three years ago when Hilary sued Naturalena for not paying for endorsing its brands, and today the founder and CEO of Naturalena, Adrian M. Forsyth, signed a confession of judgment in favor of Duff and agreed to pay a whopping $1.25 million as damages.
It was in 2021 when Hilary Duff accused Naturalena of failing to pay her endorsement fees, citing the Covid epidemic as one of the reasons.
The founder of Naturalena has now requested an enforcement of a judgment that awards Duff a whopping sum of $1.25 million in damages.
The enforcement of judgment is a route that is employed between warring parties to settle a dispute and avoid a long and cumbersome process of litigation.
Major Victory For Hilary Duff In Her Lawsuit Against The Naturalena Brand
As per the documents which were obtained by a major media outlet, the founder and CEO of Naturalena, Adrian M. Forsyth, has signed a confession of judgment in favor of Duff.
It is a binding legal document which accepts liability and the amount of damages agreed upon. He also agreed to authorize entry of this judgment against his brand.
The process also forced Naturalena to cover post-judgment interest, Duff’s attorney’s fees, and costs incurred concerning the enforcement of the judgment.
Forsyth also said that his climb-down is based on facts which he believed were true following his review of documents and information about the case.
On October 1, 2019, Naturalena and the Duff parties entered into a Celebrity Endorsement Agreement.
The agreement between Naturalena and Duff, via her loan-out company SugarMouse, gave Naturalena special rights to use her image and likeness to promote specific products, like their baby items.
When the Covid struck, Naturalena continued to use her image and likeness to promote their products but did not pay her endorsement fees.
The products for which Hilary Duff’s images were used include Happy Little Campers baby diapers, flushable wipes, natural cotton wipes, and their Veeda feminine hygiene products.
Hilary Duff had meticulously fulfilled her part of the contract and raved about how difficult it was to find a brand that offered natural and sustainable products without surrendering its efficiency.
In her words,
“As parents, we want what’s best for our kids, and as a woman, it’s important to think about my own health when it comes to what I put in my body. Happy Little Camper and Veeda are changing the way we think about the products we use. I’m so excited to take on this role and help further our mission to provide clean, plant-based products that are safe and accessible for babies and moms.”
However, her joy faded when Naturalena failed to keep their end of the bargain.
