Honda Gold Wing and CBR1000RR models recalled for defective fuel pumps

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have issued a voluntary recall for their GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR motorcycles due to faulty fuel pumps. The company will inspect and repair the motorcycles at no cost to the owners. The fuel pump impellers may deform, leading to pump failure and engine stalling.

The affected models are the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing manufactured between December 2017 to December 2023 and CBR1000RR manufactured between September 2017 to April 2020. The inspection and replacement will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India as a precautionary measure.

In other news, Honda has recently launched the NX500 adventure tourer, succeeding the discontinued CB500X in the Indian market. The motorcycle is available in three colour options and is sold exclusively through BigWing dealerships. Deliveries have already commenced, with the model competing against the Kawasaki Versys 650, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and KTM 390 Adventure.

The Honda NX500 features a 471cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine with a parallel twin-cylinder layout, producing 46.5 bhp power and 43 Nm of peak torque. The bike comes with a 6-speed gearbox, all-LED lighting, Emergency Stop Signal, a 5-inch TFT full-colour screen with Honda RoadSync for music/voice control and navigation, and a traction control system called Honda Selectable Torque Control.
