Honda showcases ‘Made-in-India’ Elevate SUV in its home country of Japan

Honda Cars India has launched the Elevate in Japan, marking the first time a car is being exported from India to Japan. The Elevate, sold with a 1.5-litre engine, will be known as the ‘WR-V’ in Japan and has already received a positive response in the country.

The Elevate comes with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, producing 119 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. The model made its global debut in India last year and has seen success in the market.

Honda Cars India has exported models to various markets, including Turkey, Mexico, Nepal, and South Africa. The export of the Elevate to Japan showcases the growing importance of the Indian manufacturing facility in Honda’s global business strategies.

President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd., Mr. Takuya Tsumura, expressed pride in the launch of the ‘Made-in-India’ Elevate in Japan.
