Hubli Violence: Initial Investigation Shows Violence Was Pre-Planned: Police

Initial investigation into the Hubli Violence has brought into light the frightening fact that the planning of the violence was done much before the incidents. Incriminating videos seized by police reveal that the violence in the commercial hub of North Karnataka was pre-meditated.

A youth had put some objectionable material on social media and the police arrested the youth. Soon a crowd of people numbering 2000 gathered around the police station demanding the police to hand over the youth to them. The crowd was raising Pro Pakistan and Pro ISI slogans. They were also chanting slogans calling for violence such as ‘what is the punishment for the guilty’ and ‘beheading is the only punishment for the guilty. The violent crowd was asking to behead the youth. Thankfully the police were able to withstand the heavy stone-pelting crowd and did not allow them to enter the police station.

Hubli Violence: 2000 People Had Gathered In A Short Span Of 20 Minutes

Police suspect that the Hubli Violence was pre-planned since 2000 people had gathered in a short period of time of 20 minutes. Police also recovered a pile of stones at the crime scene which again hints that the incident was carefully planned by the mischief-makers.

A special police team has been dispatched to Hyderabad to nab the chief accused Maulvi Waseem Pathan and eight others, who were accused of abetting the violence. Police have arrested 10 more accused in connection with the violence, taking the total number to 103.  Of these 89 have been sent into judicial custody and all have been shifted to Kalaburagi jail. A total of 12 cases have been registered by the police in connection with the violence.
