Hyundai Creta continues to break records in the Indian car market, with 16,458 units sold in March, marking the second successive month of record sales for the SUV model. The current order bank stands at around 45,000, and delivery timelines are being expedited to meet the high demand since the launch of the latest model in January.
The success of Hyundai Creta in India can be attributed to various factors such as the turbo petrol engine, multiple transmission options, a range of features, and updated exterior and cabin styling. The model stands out in its segment for offering a diesel engine option, with 40% of all Creta sales accounting for the version with a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine. Additionally, the recent introduction of the Creta N Line in two variants with cosmetic updates and minor tweaks to suspension and steering setup has further bolstered sales.
In the financial year 2023-24, Hyundai reported selling 1.63 lakh units of Hyundai Creta, along with 1.29 lakh units of Hyundai Venue. Combined, these two models accounted for nearly half of all Hyundai sales in the domestic market, totaling 6.14 lakh units. When including exports, Hyundai’s total sales for the financial year reached 7.77 lakh units, underscoring the brand’s strong performance in the Indian car market.
With the continued success of Hyundai Creta and the introduction of new variants like the Creta N Line, Hyundai remains a dominant player in the Indian car market. The company’s focus on innovation, design, and customer preferences has certainly paid off, as evidenced by the record-breaking sales figures and strong market presence.
