Hyundai Motor India Saves 650 Million Litres of Water Over 5 Years; Here’s How
Hyundai Motor India has successfully saved 650 million litres of water over the past five years through its innovative water conservation initiatives. The company introduced ‘Dry Wash’ across its service network in India in 2017, which has been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
The dry wash process has proven to be a game-changer in car cleaning, replacing the traditional method that requires a significant amount of water. By offering a spray system combined with special cleaning agents, Hyundai ensures that customers receive the same level of service satisfaction without the excessive use of water. Tarun Garg, COO at Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), stated, “Through our Dry Wash service initiative, we have conserved over 650 million litres of water, servicing 5.5+ million cars across Hyundai’s service network in India over the past five years.”
In addition to dry wash, Hyundai has implemented various eco-friendly practices such as waterborne paint systems, paperless processes, LED lighting, solarization, and rainwater harvesting in its dealerships and service points. These initiatives collectively contribute to the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The success of Hyundai’s water conservation efforts showcases the positive impact that innovative solutions can have on reducing resource wastage and promoting environmental conservation. By prioritizing sustainable practices, Hyundai sets a positive example for the automotive industry and underscores the importance of corporate responsibility in addressing pressing global challenges.
