Hyundai Motor’s US Sales Increase by 6% Thanks to Hybrids and EVs

South Korea’s top automaker, Hyundai Motor, reported a 6 percent increase in sales in the United States last month, selling a total of 60,341 units. The surge was mainly attributed to the growing demand for eco-friendly models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.

According to Yonhap news agency, Hyundai’s CEO, Randy Parker, stated, “Hyundai’s sales of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are steadily rising, with significant year-over-year growth. We take pride in the recognition our EV and plug-in hybrid models have received and remain committed to providing our customers with a diverse range of products.”

On the other hand, Hyundai’s sister company, Kia Corp, experienced a slight decrease in sales, selling 59,059 units in the U.S. last month, down 3 per cent from the previous year’s sales of 60,859 units. The overall performance of both companies in the U.S. auto market reflects the growing trend towards eco-friendly vehicles.

The rise in sales of eco-friendly models demonstrates the shift in consumer preferences towards more sustainable transportation options. As Hyundai and Kia continue to expand their offerings in the electric and hybrid vehicle segment, they are likely to attract more environmentally conscious customers in the future.
