IDF nabs terror operatives hiding among evacuating civilians in Gaza’s Khan Younis

Tel Aviv, Feb 25 (IANS) – Several terror operatives were apprehended by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as they attempted to hide among civilians evacuating from combat zones in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis area. The operatives were captured by the 7th Armoured Brigade while trying to flee with the civilian population, The Times of Israel reported.

The IDF also stated that troops killed additional gunmen and found weapons in the area. In Khan Younis, the Givati Brigade raided Hamas sites and an airstrike targeted a Hamas cell operating a drone. The Nahal Brigade in central Gaza also eliminated several Hamas gunmen over the past day.

In Gaza City, a large-scale operation continued in the Zeitoun neighborhood. The Nahal troops captured weapons and destroyed a rocket launching site. Additionally, in the nearby Shati camp, another Hamas drone-operating cell was struck in an airstrike.

The Israeli Air Force conducted multiple strikes across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, targeting Hamas’s air unit and several rocket launchers meant to fire projectiles at Israel. The IDF’s actions aim to maintain security and counteract threats posed by terrorist groups in the region.
