IESA & SEMI Partner to Enhance India’s Semiconductor Goals with Top Industry Bodies

Bengaluru, April 10 (IANS) – The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) has announced a partnership with global industry association SEMI, in a move to enhance the Indian semiconductor ecosystem and global partnerships.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IESA and SEMI aims to foster collaboration and synergies, connecting Indian stakeholders to the global semiconductor manufacturing and design supply chain. The alliance will address areas such as manufacturing, enabling policies, design, skilling, R&D, academia, and supply chains.

Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of SEMI, stated, “We expect our collaboration with multiple partners on ‘SEMICON India 2024’ in September to serve as a catalyst in these efforts.” SEMI represents over 3,000 member companies in the semiconductor design and manufacturing supply chain, adding a significant boost to the partnership.

Ashok Chandak, President of IESA, emphasized the importance of the MoU, stating, “As we stand at the cusp of an unprecedented transformation, the MoU between IESA and SEMI marks a pivotal moment for India’s semiconductor industry.” The collaboration between the two organizations will enable companies to meet, form new partnerships, and advance the emerging Indian manufacturing and design ecosystem.

Dr Veerappan, Chairperson of IESA, highlighted the potential for growth, collaboration, and technological advancement between Indian and global players, stating, “We are poised to unlock unprecedented opportunities for growth, collaboration, and technological advancement between Indian and global players.” The strategic partnership between IESA and SEMI symbolizes a collective effort to propel India into the global semiconductor orbit.
